Douglas Marriott started his career by blowing things up in South Africa – protecting soldiers against landmines by using the latest simulation technology to develop protection systems for military vehicles. From there he moved to the UK and worked at MSC Software, , which introduced the world to virtual development back in the 1960’s. There he grew his enthusiasm for virtual development and simulation across various industries, tackling many diverse problems and seeing how simulation can accelerate understanding. Now at Stress Engineering Services, he works in the consumer and medical device market, consulting clients using various simulation tools fit for purpose to aid in solving their critical engineering problems.
